By moving accident vehicles out of the way, drivers help:
Move It
Moving your damaged vehicle off the roadway helps clear accidents quickly, reduce congestion and improve safety. Just as important, in Florida, it’s the law!
Should your vehicle be moved after an accident?
Many drivers believe it’s unlawful to move their vehicles if they are involved in a minor traffic accident on the highway. In fact, the opposite is true.
State of Florida Statutes (Sections 316.027, 316.061, 316.063, 316.071) require that if a damaged or disabled vehicle is obstructing traffic, the driver of the vehicle must make every reasonable effort to move the vehicle or have it moved so that it is not obstructing the regular flow of traffic. If the drivers cannot move the vehicle alone, they should ask for help.
