What is I-75OTM?
I-75OTM stands for I-75 On The Move.
What will I-75OTM accomplish?
The I-75OTM project will provide relief for travelers and commuters using I-75. The relief will come from the addition of 2 lanes on the section of I-75 that runs through the communities of Laurel, Nokomis, and Venice. This addition modifies I-75 from a 4-lane highway to a 6-lane highway by adding an inside lane both northbound and southbound for a distance of 9.4 miles.
How much will I-75OTM cost?
The project will cost approximately $31 million.
When and where will the construction take place?
Construction will take place on I-75 from north of River Road to north of State Road 681. Construction will also include the interstate approaches at Laurel Road, Jacaranda Boulevard and River Road. Construction activities are scheduled to begin in spring of 2010 and end in summer of 2012.
Will there be any lanes closures during construction?
There will be temporary lane closures on I-75 during the nighttime hours between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. throughout the duration of the project. Construction activities on the interstate approaches at Laurel Road, Jacaranda Boulevard and River Road will also require temporary, intermittent lane closures during daytime and nighttime hours.
